Do you rent partial weeks?
-All our cottages rent Saturday to Saturday. We do consider a minimum of 3 nights during the low season.
What is the cancellation policy?
-If it possible for us to rent out your stay to another party then we will refund your money minus a $200 processing fee.
-If you decide to change your booking to another cottage or week within 10 days of making your original booking you can do so, however you will be charged a $50 processing fee. After this point we will view it as a cancellation.
Is a security deposit taken?
-Yes. All places require a $200 cash deposit (except for the Pavillion and Carriage house which is $300) that is taken on arrival in case of damages, and/or if the place is not returned to its original clean condition.
We expect that the house be broom swept, bed linen removed and brought to the Hospitality Suite (towels and linens separated please), dishes put away clean and dry, not left in the dishwasher. That all furniture be brought back to their original places. Trash and recycling should be put in the outside bins, we will take care of sanitizing the house. No smoking. No fireworks. No cooking lobster inside the house. We provide lobster burners for outside use only.
The deposit will be returned within a week of departure.
Do you accept pets?
Is there a formal check in?
-No there is not. More likely than not someone will be on the property to greet you, give you a tour of Anna's and answer any questions.
- Check-in is at 4 P.M. onwards and check-out is at 10 A.M. If you would like to check in earlier call us that day, we may be able to accommodate your request. Also If you're planning on checking out earlier, please let us know so that we can get a head start on the cleaning.
Usually we do no late check outs, as we need this time to make everything sparkle for our next guests.
Do you observe quiet hours?
-Yes, we observe quiet hours from 9 P.M. to 9 A.M. so everyone can relax and appreciate the property peacefully. Please be respectful of other guests by keeping the noise down during this time. There is a noise ordinance on the island so it is important to abide by this.
-Yes, we expect the houses to be in the same condition you found them in; the floors need to be broom swept, and all used towels and linen separated in the provided canvas laundry bag and brought to the Hospitality Suite. Trash and recycling should be put in the outside bins, and dishes should be put away clean, not left in the dishwasher. We will take care of sanitizing the house.
Can we smoke on the property?
-There is no smoking inside any of the cottages. You can smoke outside, but please do not litter grounds with cigarette butts. This also helps to avoid fires, especially during dry spells. We reserve the right to ask you not to smoke if it is bothering other guests.
How do you cook lobster?
-We provide lobster burners for outside use only. We do not allow lobster to be cooked inside due to smell.
Are the cottages heated?
-The Carriage house, Lookout, Rose, Veranda, Butterfly Suite, Treehouse, Wayfarer, Bluehouse, Pavillion and Artist Studio are heated.

-We are about a 25 minute drive from Bar Harbor.
-The town of Southwest Harbor has three public town docks with parking and they are five minutes away by car.
What is the best way to get around on the Island?
-The Island Explorer is a fantastic way to see the Island. The clean propane-powered vehicles offer transportation to hiking trails, carriage roads, island beaches, and in-town shops and restaurants.
Here's a tip that locals know: the park loop road is mostly one way, and the right lane can be used at any point for parking.

-Unfortunately, no we do not have any mail delivery to the property. You may be able to have mail delivered to Care of First Express, 61 Cottage Street, Bar Harbor, ME 04609. I recommend calling them at (207) 288-5885 before you schedule a delivery there to check if they will accept it.
