Testimonials for the Bluehouse

Bluehouse

It was our first time visiting Southwest Harbor. It was so much fun walking to different little shops. We drove to the summit of Cadillac Mountain. What a view! We spent two and a half hours mesmerized by the scenery. We also did a little bit of hiking. Then, we drove to Jordan Pond and walked around the pond for two and a half hours which was about 5 miles. Exhilarating! The view at Sand Beach is beautiful. Lobster dinner at Beals was delicious. Had Blueberry pie by Mary Musson. From Anna's walf down Forest Ave, take a right on Main Street. Scrumptious homemade pies!
Hiked up Beech Mountain. Beautiful view! Did mountain biking on the Carriage Roads. Too awesome! We loved the Bluehouse. It was a comfortable place to stay for a wonderful vacation away from home!

This week has been one of epic hikes and great food. Our stay at the Bluehouse was terrific! Many thanks to the hosts for setting us up perfectly for our lobster dinner. This was a great place to call "home" during our stay at Southwest Harbor. Hiking the Beehive was tough but lots of fun with amazing views of Sand Beach and the ocean. We always took lots of stops for pictures! We recommend Sips for Breakfast, just a short walk from the cottage.

We had a wonderful stay in the Bluehouse and a fantastic vacation in Acadia. Hiking the Cadillac North Ridge trail was fun (& tiring). A good break from city life!

We had a great time in the Bluehouse. Highlights:
* Marc helping us cook lobster for the first time.
* Hiking up the Beehive.
* Lovely meals at Red Sky.
* Enjoyed bicycling around Isleford (an island off of Mount Desert Island). Bring mosquito repellant.
Thanks Marc and team for a great holiday!

The purpose of our trip was twofold -a family reunion and to celebrate a 75th birthday. Maine has always called the "Birthday Girl" and Anna's Bluehouse was a perfect backdrop.
We've all had a wonderful time and we'll take home fond memories of Anna's Bluehouse.

We had a wonderful time at the Bluehouse. We loved the location which is nearby to most of the attractions and still secluded from the outside world. Thank you for providing a wonderful accommodation.

Another great vacation at Anna's Quietside and House of the Blue.
Climbed Pemetic, Penobscot and Norembega, went to Seal Cove Auto Museum (awesome) and just relaxed. Thank you! See you next year, have a great one!

We had a wonderful week -our first visit to Anna's Quietside and first to MDI in many years. The cottage is charming and hospitality superb. The tranquility of the "Quietside" was great, a lovely retreat after some full days of activity. Highlights are: biking the Carriage Roads and finding the bridges, Thunder Hole (2hrs after low tide -amazing!) and a show stopping dinner at the Burning Tree in Otter Creek.

Thank you so much for the wonderful stay in the Bluehouse. We were greeted with tea and cookies and Marc went to a lot of trouble to make our 10 year anniversary here special for us! Thank you! ;-)
We enjoyed hiking (Beech Mountain, and some easier walks down Wonderland, and Ship Harbor). We also took a kayak trip -fun to see the seals, and biked the Carriage roads around Eagle Lake and Witch Hole Pond -was great! Would recommend Red Sky for a nice dinner, XYZ for you foodies out there, and Quietside Cafe for yummy ice-cream.
Thank you so much for everything!

Love the decorations and paintings! We had a great first time in Maine and at Anna's Quietside Cottages. Thanks for making our trip very memorable.
We also really enjoyed the frog pond near the entrance and making s'mores in the stove.
The stars are lovely here!
Southwest Harbor is cooler than Bar Harbor ;-)

We had a most enjoyable stay here! A great location away from the Bar Harbor crowds with good places to eat nearby. Try Thurston's for great "lobsta" with a no - frill environment and reasonable prices. Checkout Cadillac Mountain for a fantastic view and Jordan Pond with a great hike to and up the Bubbles followed by dinner on the lawn. Hope you enjoy your stay as well!

Thank you for everything. Your preparations for the 35th wedding renewal ceremony was definitely above and beyond what we expected. You did a beautiful job.
Great time in Maine for our family reunion.

It was all the small details that made our stay so enjoyable... the friendly, easy going greeting by Marc when we first found the place online and made a reservation, the warm welcome by Annette as we drove our tired family to rest after a very long journey late Sunday evening ( a welcome complete with juice and everything she could find for our hungry children), the treasure trove of childhood goodies found in every nook and cranny throughout the week, the games and "social hour", the tent setup for relaxing after a day biking and swimming, the friendly conversation throughout the week, and the flexibility in letting us stay on an extra day after arriving a day late.
Thanks to your kind gestures and well run operation, we enjoyed yet another incredible trip in this amazing part of Maine. Hope to return soon.

We had an awesome time in Maine. Today we went to Thunder Hole. It was amazing. We had smores last night. A few days ago, we went to an Oceanarium. It had starfish, sea urchins, and other cool creatures you could hold. We also went hiking. We drove up Cadillac Mountain and walked around at the top. It was an amazing view. We went swimming at Sand Beach and made about a 2 foot high tower with all sea weed and a bit of sand. As soon as we stopped working on it, the waves destroyed it. We got to walk to an island. When the tide was low, there is a sand bar that you can walk across on. When the tide was high, you can't walk on the sand bar any more. At the Oceanarium, we saw a female lobster with eggs. It was cool. We went to the whale museum today. We saw whale bones. There were 2 stuffed seals. There were also big barnicles that grew on a whales back. There was also dead plankton and another sea creature that whales eat.
Everything was very nice in Maine. The cottage we stayed in was very warm and cozy. We saw some cool mushrooms around our cottage in the woods. There were lots of cool games and books in the Hospitality Suite. I liked walking to the bakery in the morning to get breakfast. I hope we can come back to Maine again.

We had a fantastic time in the Bluehouse. It was very relaxing and quaint. We loved walking into town every night as well as sitting by the pond at Anna's. We also swam in Echo Lake everyday which was refreshing. Acadia National Park was beautiful and had a lot of good hikes to offer. We hiked around Jordan Pond, and up the South Bubble which was our favorite, and ate popovers at the tea house after, which were delicious! We also did the Wonderland Trail which is right by the Sea, and the Guggenheim Summit which has awesome views. We also went into Bar Harbor to eat lobster and shop. We loved staying here, and enjoyed all the activities.
